At the airport

OK, so I am at the airport now, on my way to Atlanta. My flight path takes me through the UK (Manchester) and then into the states.

It is interesting because my flight leaves at 8:15. But I had it in my mind that I was flying through London on the normal 07.00 flight. SO I woke up at 4am and rushed around trying to get ready, only to come to the realisation that none of that was really necessary because my flight left much later than I thought.

Now that I have checked in, I am beginning to realise the impact of losing my status. No longer can I get drunk in the lounge...and drinks on the plane will cost money. So now I just simply have to get my status back. There is just no other way to say it. Must must must. The commoners are doing silly things around me, like breathing and talking.

I walked though the duty free section at Arlanda. Steve is having a "brunch" on Sunday. Of course, there will be no food, but there is a brunch anyway. Champagne will be served. Anyway, back to the story. As I was reviewing the all-too-familiar selections, one selection did jump out at me. It was a bottle of 1996 cristal champagne for only US$100. At such a great deal, I had to but it. And then I got little bottles of vodka -- the Absolut Five. No matter that Absolut makes 6 varieties of vodka...what is in is out and what is out is in.

Anyhoo. Vodka and Champagne in hand, this should get me through the flight to Manchester before I get to the US. Where more vodka must be consumed.

I do have a night in Boston as I am transiting. I decided that I would stay at a hotel to keep the profile low (if I go home and announce it, I get in trouble because I can drive around massachusetts to visit everyone, so I'd rather say fuck it skip those arguments).

Anyway, there is not much else that one can really report, other than to say that I am looking forward to the trip home because it has been a long time since I have been back to the United States and I think it will be good to clear my head and get psyched for the the second half of the year.

Well, I will talk to everyone in Sweden soon. Take care and lots of hugs!
